North Norfolk Chamber Opera and the Britten Centenary

NNCO is the first in to start the celebrations for *Gresham’s*alumnus
*Benjamin Britten*, whose anniversary falls in 2013, with a production
of his ‘serious comedy’ *Albert Herring*.

Set in *East Angli*a, it is based on a tale by Guy du Maupassant and is
a ‘coming of age’ story full of snobbery, false piety, sexuality, double
standards, and a good dollop of wit.

*/Come and see a local company of local talent perform for local
people a local opera by a local composer …/*

NNCO is pleased to announce the participation of soprano *Penelope
MacKay*in the role of Lady Billows. The conducting and directing team of
*Susie Self*and *Stephen**Miles*, who brought the recent production of
Puccini’s Sister Angelica to such vivid life, will be once more be
guiding the NNCO forces in what promises to be a great evening of lyric
theatre. Tickets are on sale at £12 for performances on March 29th, 30th
and 31st at 7.30pm.

The Auden Theatre Box Office is open Monday to Friday from 12.30 – 2pm.
